Myles and the Monster Outside by Philippa Dowding

I really, really, really liked this book. The book is about a little boy named Myles who is about twelve years old and him trying to warn his family about the monster outside and the monster catching up to him and his family who had been driving for a few days.

My favourite part of the book was when Myles and his family were learning about Pete Fournette. I was really happy when they mentioned one of the people was from Tottenham.  Courage, Pete’s dog, reminded me of Courage the Cowardly dog and how he always ends up saving the day.

I like how at the beginning the author was describing the myth of Pete Fournette and what happened to poor Pete. At the end they describe what happened to Myles when he grew up and how it affected him.

I recommend this book to any age and if you like scary, comedy books or the series “Weird Stories Gone Wrong.”
